Value Charts
These value charts simulate shading the more iterations. I don't know why the one I invented was upside down.
Stipling Worksheet
Stippling Requires you to add a bunch of dots to simulate shading.
100 Texture Squares
For our most recent project, we first have to make 100 Texture Squares that we will use for our final project
Pen and Ink Project
This was the final project for the Pen and Ink. Which was to use our one hundred textures to enhance an image.
Pen and Ink Questions
1. Describe how you arranged your composition. Discuss your use of the elements and principles. Is it a successful composition?
I honestly don't remember how I arranged my Composition, and I don't think it was successful
2. How is texture and pattern important in your composition?
To make it feel real.
3. Why is value so important in this project?
To give the images depth.
4. Describe your craftsmanship (How well the project is crafted technically).
It didn't go well. At least I don't think.
5. Explain how your knowledge and creating practice studies with value and pattern contributed to the success of your piece.
I'm not entirely sure about it.
6. When applying the pen and ink/pattern techniques why and how is it important to make sure you understand the concepts taught in class?
To make your art better.
7. As a growing artist how do you think what you have learned will guide and better your future projects. Explain.
I'm not sure.
8. If you could recreate your piece what would you do differently to enhance your final outcome?
First off I'd get my 100 textures done faster.

Water Color Values
This was just a way to practice show gradients with water colors.
Water Color Fruits
This was an image we made to practice water colors for our final project. The first image was of cool colors, the second was of warm colors, the third was water color pencils, and the fourth was monochromatic.
Final Project: Water Color
Water Color Questions
1. Explain the process you had to use to create the poured watercolor painting.
First we applied a masking fluid to the paper where we want to keep white,
2. Describe any difficulties you had with this process.
Off the top of my head, I can't remember having any trouble with the water color process.
3. What were 4 things you learned from this project?
How water color painting is different from normal painting.
Different kinds of water color painting
4. What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
Use more water.
5. How did you use layers, textures, and color to create a successful piece?
To make colors pop out more.
6. Do you feel that the mini watercolor lessons were beneficial to you learning more about watercolor? Explain.
Yes, because I know how watercolor painting works.
7. Was having a guest artist a positive experience? Explain.
Yes because he taught me a sort of "unorthodox" method to watercolor.
8. What did you learn from the guest artist that gave you more insight into being a professional artist?
You can bend the rules a bit.

Prismacolor
This was an image we made to practice using Prismacolor. In my opinion the grey ones are better.
Primary Color Self Portrait
1. Describe the craftsmanship of your portrait. (Is it neat and well executed?)
It isn't neat or well executed.
2. Describe any difficulties you had blending and mixing your colors.
I had a lot of difficulty mixing colors, you can still lightly see the individual primary colors slightly.
3. Did you follow directions and draw each grid box separately? Why is this important?
Yes I did. This is important because it lets you focus on one point instead of the entire thing to make it more accurate.
4. How did you create value changes with your colored pencils?
By shading
5. Discuss how you were able to get the color you wanted from the 3 pencils?
By merging the colors
6. How could you improve your portrait?
Shading lighter
7. Looking back do you feel you were prepared for this project? What part of the unit was beneficial in the success of the portrait?
Yes
8. Choose another classmate’s piece that you feel is an excellent example of mastering the techniques. Discuss why you feel this way.
It isn't neat or well executed.

Clay Foods
Clay Food Questions
- Describe the craftsmanship of your sculpture. (Is it neat and well executed?)
It looks terrible. - What was the most difficult part of this project?
Molding the bowl - Did your color choices work together harmoniously?
No - Is your sculpture interesting from all views?
I guess - Describe the differences in constructing a sculpture and doing something 2D.
When doing something in 2D, you can sketch out the picture before you start drawing the features. - How did you create textures in your sculpture?
I didn't really use textures. - Does your sculpture look like the actual food? How did you accomplish this?
No - What would you do differently if you were to do this project again?
Do it better
Acrylic Paint
This was an assignment we did to make a color wheel for acrylic paints, but we had to give it our own style to it. I made mine a clock.
Piece of Painting
This was an assignment to replicate a piece of a painting as accurate as we can. The image at the bottom is the entire work, which was made by Picasso.
Painting in the style of a Famous Artist
This was our final project for the class. Where we had to make a painting that imitated a famous artist that we are given. The one I was to imitate was Ben Shahn. Yeah, I know it looks nothing like his paintings. The painting i used is called "Unemployed"
Reflection
This semester in Visual Arts - Intermediate has been fun. It took some time to get used to the whole idea of posting the projects on the portfolio and I had a pretty low grade early on because of that, but thankfully I adapted to it and started to update it regularly.
Personally my best projects were the self portrait using primary colors and the "Painting in a famous artist's style" Project. I also learned a lot about multiple ways to present art. Such as clay sculptures, acrylic paints, and water colors. Though I'm not sure how I'll use them in the future.
Over all, I enjoyed this class. I'm kind of sad that this is my senior year in high school, otherwise I would have taken more of Ms. Rossi's class.
